Warrajan, a Pig-nosed Turtle
BF25
This unique Pig-nosed Turtle, or Warrajan, nestled among vibrant leaves. With its distinctive pig-like snout and marine flippers, the turtle is brought to life through soft, detailed brushwork and a serene blend of natural colours. Native to Northern Australia's freshwater habitats, this rare and ancient creature faces a troubling future due to habitat destruction and illegal poaching.
I've attempted to capture this turtle’s charm with a nose that Monty Python wouldn't be able to resist laughing at. Life of Brian fans will get me.
Support wildlife awareness through art, by bringing home my little turle you are helpihng to protect this and many other vulnerable species.
