Orange-Bellied Parrot on Cyanotype Background
BF25
This vibrant piece captures the delicate beauty of the Criticall Endangered Orange-bellied Parrot perched gracefully on a branch. Painted in watercolour, the parrot’s striking yellow, green and orange hues are complemented by a rich, textural cyan background.
Perfect for nature lovers, this piece is not just art but a celebration of experimentation and discovery.
The cyanotype process (Created by exposing inks to UV light) adds a sense of depth and intrigue, with abstract patterns reminiscent of nature’s intricate forms.
This artwork was an experiment in combining watercolour with the cyanotype process, creating a unique fusion of techniques. It was a joy to create, I feel play is important for developing my creative skills, exploring new methods and pushing my creative boundaries.
